Head, Department of Mass Communications, Rhema University Aba, Dr. Uwoma Uche, has congratulated the newly elected Chairmen and Councilors of Local Government Areas in Abia State sworn in yesterday by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu.
Uche, an Association Professor, charged the elected Chairmen and Councilors to see their emergence as an opportunity to serve their people for the betterment of society.
He urged them to be magnanimous in victory and give their opponents a sense of belonging in the spirit of inclusive governance.
The former Senior Special Adviser to ex-Gov Orji Uzor Kalu told Wawa News Global that:” I believe that Power only belongs to God and he gives it to whomever he desires to.
“They should consider their election as an act of grace and a call to serve and give their best to the grassroot.
“Let them be agents of unity and change shunning all forms of manipulation but do all to put their names in gold.”
Dr. Uche specifically, extolled the Chairman of his Arochukwu LGA, Prince Dan Kalu, “whose glaring and indisputable track record in the past endeared him to the masses which has led to his return to the seat of Chairman Arochukwu LGA”.
He also extolled his Deputy, Hon Cletus Nwankwo who he said was his student in the university, describing him as “calm, calculated and humble”.
The Ihechiowa-born Associate Professor described the choice of Nwankwo as “balanced and bringing a healthy power sharing equation in Arochukwu LGA”.
Dr. Uche called on political stakeholders now that the elections are over, to close rank and work as one “as those elected are no aliens but citizens of the respective LGAs”.
