Chief of Staff to Gov Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Dr. Anthony Agbazuere, is now in soup after playing host to a popular Anambra-based controversial prophet, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje.
This is as the former Information Commissioner, a Ph.D holder in law, was suspended in office by Gov Ikpeazu barely 72 hours after Odumeje’s highly celebrated visit.
Agbazuere’s surprised suspension was announced in a press statement on Sunday by the Secretary to the State Government, Chris Ezem.
According to the one sentence announcement, Agbazuere’s suspension takes immediate effect.
”Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has directed the immediate suspension from office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr ACB Agbazuere,” the short statement read.
Findings by Wawa News Global revealed that Agbazuere’s woes were not unconnected with his spraying money on the prophet during a reception party in his office on Thursday.
His suspension was announced few hours after a viral video surfaced showing Agbazuere spraying money in his office on Prophet Odumeje.
The viral video had generated Public outrage, a development that had embarrassment the Governor, thus prompting his action.
“Indaboski Pahose” , one of the popular names with which the controversial cleric who also describes himself as “the liquid metal” and “the war” ; and”Abia” trended on the Twitter handle following the controversy.
The mission of the Leader of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministry is not yet clear but pundits were left confused why his visit will land his host, a right hand man of Gov Ikpeazu in trouble.
It’s also too early to predict if the Governor who recently restored two suspended Transition Committee Council Chairmen will soft-pedal but political watchers see Agbazuere as very indispensable to Gov Ikpeazu because of his crucial roles particularly at critical moments when ‘men’ are sorted from ‘boys’.
He became popular in 2019 when he described himself as ‘the liquid metal’, ‘the war’, and ‘the indaboski pahose’ among others in viral videos in 2019.
