Leave restructuring, face 2023 presidency, Orji Kalu tells Ndigbo
By Steve Oko
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu representing Abia North district has urged Ndigbo to jettison the agitation for restructuring Nigeria and rather channel resources towards producing the Nigeria President of Igbo extraction in 2023.
The Senate Chief Whip who stated this while fielding questions from newsmen Wednesday in Umuahia at the country home of Hon Chukwudi Apugo where he had paid condolence visit, said producing Buhari’s successor should matter more to Ndigbo than restructuring Nigeria.
The former governor however regretted that instead of heeding his advice, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo was rather obsessed with restructuring.
He called on Ndigbo to focus on the 2023 presidency and stop dissipating energy on restructuring, arguing that Ndigbo will get their fair share in Nigeria with one of their own as the Chief tenant of the nation’s seat of power.
