Okonjo-Iweala, emerges WTO DG

Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has emerged the Director General of the World Trade Organisation, WTO.
According to TheCable, Iweala polled 104 votes from 164 member countries to defeat her South Korea’s trade minister opponent, at the final stage of the race.
The Ogwashiukwu , Delta State born but Umuda Isingwu Umuahia, Abia State married technocrat broke many records, including becoming the first African and first woman to occupy that office at the WTO.
Her emergence has sparked wild jubilation across Africa who see her as an ambassador of New Africa.
