Nigeria heading for radical break-up unless we restructure peacefully now – Nwodo
By Steve Oko
President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, has warned that Nigeria was headed for “radical break-up” unless the country “is peacefully restructureed now”.
The Leader of the apex Igbo socio-cultural body gave the warning on the heels of the growing nation wide protest against police brutality otherwise known as #EndSARS.
Nwodo in a tweet via his verified twitter handle noted that police reform was long overdue in Nigeria.
He warned that the Nigerian youths who are more in population are already disenchanted with the governance of the country, adding that if nothing urgent is done to pacify the irate youths on the streets, the protest could snowball to something bigger.
Below is the tweet posted on his page :
“The country needs to be peacefully RESTRUCTURED or could witness a radical break-up soon. “State policing is long overdue. #EndSARS, #EndSWAT protest represents something bigger. Majority of our population are youths and the majority has had enough. #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria“
