‘Onyeze’ picks form for Arochukwu council boss

Chief Felix Ukpabi (a. K. a Onyeze) has picked nomination and expression of form for the chairmanship of Arochukwu Local Government Area, scheduled for December 19.

Ukpabi who picked his form today (Tuesday) amid fanfare at the Finbas Road State secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Umuahia, promised to rebuild Arochukwu LGA.
The Special Adviser to the Governor also promised to make youth empowerment a top priority on his agenda, and to ensure grass root participation in democracy at the LGA.
Chief Ukpabi who hails from Ugwuakuma village in Arochukwu ancient kingdom vowed to ensure every clan in Arochukwu LGA benefited from democracy dividends during his tenure.
“Under my watch every community in Arochukwu will have at least a tangible project and youths empowerment will rank among first charge duty of my government.”

“As a grassroot man, I already know the major challenges of our people and if given the mandate I will hit the ground running the same day I’m sworn into office “.
Chief Ukpabi who said the worst error any people would make was to vote an unprepared man into power urged the people of the LGA to give him their massive support.
Wawa News check revealed that his candidature has already received the block endorsement of the major shareholders in all 19 villages in Aro Oke Igbo clan.
Onyeze as he is popularly known also has strong support in Abam where his running mate is expected to emerge from.
His popularity is also teeming among other clans in Arochukwu including Isu, Ututu and Ihechiowa where the youths are already rooting for him.
Findings also indicate that the former House of Assembly aspirant enjoys the support of indigent ones and widows in the council.
So far only three aspirants have indicated interest in the chairmanship job with two of them – Prince Dan Kalu Orji (former Transition Committee Chairman); and Kalu Agada Nkochi coming from Abam clan.
According to pundits, ‘Onyeze’ appears favoured by a numbers of factors including the current distribution of political power in the LGA.
