As political pamutations and realignments gradually get under way ahead of 2023, youths in Isuikwuato Local Government Area have tipped the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah for the governorship of Abia State.
The youths have also endorsed the candidature of Mazi Kanu Aghaukwa Kanu (Happy World Foundation) as “the most preferred candidate for the job of the Local Government Chairman” in the forthcoming council poll slated for December 19.

The youths who  met at Century Hotel, Amaba, on October 1st, threw their weight behind the stand of Isuikwuato stakeholders and other socio-cultural groups that the next governor of Abia State should come from the Isuikwuato district based on Abia charter of equity.

According to them Isuikwuato should be allowed to produce Abia governor come 2023.

They said that haven taken a cursory look at the profile and antecedents  of those aspiring for the plum job from the district, they found Ogah’s profile very intimidating, hence their decision to adopt him as their consensus candidate.

The youths unanimously called on Abia Leaders, political elite and all political parties in the state to respect the zoning arrangement as required by the chater of equity.
Ogah and Osondu
They said said Isuikwuato youths would not tolerate any attempt to disrupt the zoning arrangement arguing that Isuikwuato division which represents the “I” in Abia acronym has not tasted power since the creation of the state 29 years ago.
The youths urged political parties in the state to cede their governorship slot to Isuikwuato division in the spirit of Abia chater of equity.
They also called on governorship aspirants from outside Isuikwuato to perish their ambition in the spirit of justice and fairness which would engender peace and mutual trust in the state.
On their choice of Ogah for the governorship position, the youths said the antecedents of the industrialist in the private sector as the highest employer of labour in the state after the State Government had put him at an edge above others.
They said that as a reputable investor, Ogah if given the opportunity, would turn Abia into a major industrial hub and investment destination in Nigeria, adding that his transformational touch in Onuaku Uturu is a sample and foretaste of what Abia would look like under his watch.
According to them, Ogah has the magic wand to solve the soaring rate of unemployment in the state which, according to them is a time bomb that must be avoided.
The convener of the meeting and a youth leader in the council, Mr. Okoro, described Ogah as a bridge builder and the choice of Abia masses of all classes and political divides.
Osondu
He also said Kanu  had what it takes to rebuild Isuikwuato LGA from the ruins of the past leaders if voted into power.

The convergence was decorated with alot of varieties and featured the presence of a talented musician of Isukwuato land, Tochukwu Arthur Ekeleme who thrilled the audience with his musical vibes and also, a display of traditional tunes and dances.
Many poured out their hearts, declaring what they felt should be done to harness the potentials of our people.
