Hope for Biafra as US grants agitators permission to protest near White House
By Steve Oko
The rising agitation for the restoration of Biafra republic championed by the Mazi Nnamdi Kanu -led Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, received a major boost Monday, as the United States of America, granted the agitators permission to hold a rally near the White House.
According to a post on the facebook page of one of the Biafra promoters, Mazi Simon Ekpa, the rally will hold by 1pm on October 1st.

It read in part :”I am glad to announce that our application for a rally By the Mayor’s Office at 1400 Pennsylvania Ave (2 blocks from the White House) has been approved, yes APPROVED!!
“Date: October 1st, 2020
Event: Celebration of Nigeria Last Independence Day Celebration & Celebration of Biafra 1st Independence.
Time: 1pm – 2pm
Venue: 1400 Pennsylvania Ave (2 blocks from the White House)”.

Wawa News Global had reported that Kanu had earlier issued a sit-at-home order through out Biafra territory on October 1st while urging all Biafrans in the diaspora to hold peaceful rallies in their countries of abode.
As IPOB intensifies its global awareness for Biafra with the resultant increasing international pressure on Nigeria to grant autonomy to the new republic, the movement has also insisted on the October 1st sit -at -home protest.
It has urged all Biafrans to ensure strict compliance while warning those making contrary remarks to retrace their steps or get ready to reap the rewards of treachery.
This is as the Yoruba self rule agitators have also declared support for the October 1st sit -at-home protest.
The apex Igbo socio-cultural body, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, had earlier last week, also declared its full support for IPOB on the sit -at -home order.
This would be the first time Ohanaeze and IPOB would be on the same page on Biafra related affairs, a development that has raised the hope of many that the struggle may have entered its final stage.
Kanu has repeatedly declared that Biafra actualization might not exceed this year.
