Obaseki floors Ize-Iyamu to win Edo guber poll

The incumbent Gov. Godwin Obaseki of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has defeated his major challenger, Pastor Osagie Ize -Iyamu of the All Progressive Congress, APC, to win the Edo State governorship election held Saturday, September 19, 2020.
Obaseki polled a total of 307,955 votes while the APC candidate scored 223,619 votes to come second.
The PDP candidate coasted to victory with a clear margin of 84,336 vote.
According to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC , PDP won in 13 of the 18 local governments in the state ,while APC won only in five LGAs.
