Ask for Osinbajo’s whereabouts, IPOB leader challenges PDP
* Accuses SGF of ‘ordering Nigerians about’
By Steve Oko
The Leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has challenged Nigerians especially members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to demand of the whereabouts of the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who he said had not been in public sphere in the recent times.
Kanu who accused the Presidency of leaving Nigerians in the dark about the whereabouts of the the Vice President urged Nigerians to make a public appearance.
The IPOB Leader in a press statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen by the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, also accused the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustafa of hijacking the powers of the VP.
Kanu, in the statement wrote : “The correct question PDP should be asking Aisha Buhari is, where is Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and why is Boss Mustapha doing his job if he’s still alive and well?”
The IPOB Leader wondered why Nigerians are not bothered about the whereabouts of their Vice President who he claimed “is missing in action”.
“#AsoRockIsStillEmpty#OsinbajoIsStillMissing”, Kanu wrote.
Kanu further threatened that he would soon start charging Nigeria government officials as well as the opposition for regularly visiting his facebook page to get free education on how best to run a democratic government.
The statement read in full : “Good to see that Nigerians, her failed government and opposition come to this page to receive free education in History, Civics, Constitutional Governance & Democracy. Very soon I have to start charging them.
“Last night I wrote in my penultimate post that “an unelected, unaccountable Boss Mustapha made an announcement which Channels TV knew ought to have been made by Yemi Osinbajo the Vice President in the absence of a President.
“It is an abomination in a democracy for a mere political appointee to issue a directive to citizens who cannot hold him accountable through the ballot box. This is Government 101. Channels TV knew this was not only wrong and democratically untenable, it was a subversion of the Constitution and will of the people”. Later that same night PDP issued a statement, captured in the headline below, rebuking the Aisha Buhari led government for using Boss Mustapha to issue directives to citizens.
“This is how it will be in the future, Nigerians will to troop to Biafraland to learn how to run a democratic government and we Biafrans would be glad to teach them for free because they are fellow Africans.”
