There  is palpable fear in Aso Rock, Nigeria’s seat of power  as three staff of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari have tested positive to coronavirus (COVID-19).

This is coming 24 hours after Kyari himself who recently returned to the country from Italy tested positive to the deadly pandemic.

A presidential source which pleaded for anonymity confirmed the development.

This is as most  aides of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo reportedly stayed away from the State House, thus fueling suspicion about the status of some top government officials who may have come in contact with Buhari’s Chief of Staff now in isolation centre.

Vanguard reports say all the aides at the Vice President’s wing with the exception of his media aide did not turn up for work.

A source said the VP reported late to work on Monday afternoon unlike him.

Most of his aides had face masks and hand gloves on when they came to work on Monday.

Meanwhile the villa is on a gradual lockdown as none essential staff have been asked to stay away.

Buhari was said to have tested negative on Monday, while his daughter who recently returned from London is currently on self quarantine.

Her status has not been made public.
