Leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamani Kanu, has expressed rage over the genocidal killing of locals in Ebonyi community by suspected terrorists.
The incident according to reports, occurred Tuesday, March 10, 2020 about 2:30 pm local time at Ndegu Orie Umuoguduakpu community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Kanu, in a press statement posted on his facebook page alleged that the massacre was perpetrated by terrorists “in military uniform”.
The post which has generated global outrage read in part : “Armed Fulani terrorists camped at neighbouring Agila community Ado LGA of Benue state, numbering about thirty five (35), some dressed in military uniform and supported by the … who were already present in Umuoguduakpu village harrassing people.
“These Fulani terrorists in collaboration with the … invaded the community and killed 20 persons”.
According to the IPOB Leader, victims of the genocidal attack include : Fidelia Ali 0meh, 70; Helen Ali , 55; Ogayi Ali 45; James Eze,58; and Eke Ajah, 75.
Others were Idenyi Agbo 45; Elizabeth obele, 65; Ogah Oge 35; Ogba Eze, 65 ; among others.
According to the post, houses and farm produce storage facilities worth millions of Naira were also burnt and destroyed during the attack.
These invaders beheaded their victims according to the post, as headless corpses littered the agrarian community after the invasion.
” Fulani terrorists and … beheaded their Biafran victims in their trademark Jihadi style.
“They also destroyed Bethel Methodist Church at Umuoguduakpu”, Kanu alleged.
The IPOB Leader tongue-lashed South East Governors whom he accused of cowardice and docility.
“Those that look up to governors across the East for protection can now see for themselves that Fulani caliphate is the ones in charge.”
Kanu also accused the media especially some major national and international platforms of maintaining “criminal silence “
” BBC, CNN, … have maintained their criminal silence over this abominable atrocity. I am certain that when the time comes they will report IPOB response with glee.”
He called on the international community to take note of the atrocities and bring the perpetrators and their sponsors to book.
Renewed attacks by Fulani terrorists including herdsmen, Boko Haram, ISWAP and bandicts against Christians communities have intensified in the recent months.
The urgy of attacks which had hitherto concentrated in the North and Middle Belt regions is fast spreading into Christian -dominated Southern states .
There are expectations that the disturbing situation which obviously has overwhelmed security agencies could lead to international intervention to protect the hapless victims.
