Death of Arochukwu LG Boss, big disaster to Aro clan  – Sen Ohuabunwa

Senator Mao Ohuabunwa has described the sudden death of the Chairman Transition Committee of Arochukwu Local Government Council, Engineer (Dr.) Maurice Onyekachi Okoro as a big disaster to the entire Aro clan, Abia North Senatorial District and indeed Abia State.

The former Speaker of ECOWAS Parliament made the remarks Friday,  while speaking during a funeral church service in honour of the deceased at the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church Amankwu, Arochukwu.

Ohuabunwa who fought back tears intermittently as he spoke emotionally said he was yet to recover from the shock and trauma of Okoro’s painful exit.

He said the late Council Boss was his brother, political son and former aide who had endeared himself so much to him throug faithful service.

According to Senator Ohuabunwa, the late TC Chairman was a very honest, resilient and resourceful personality who distinguished himself in every task.

He said that the deceased had within his short sojourn on earth made indelible marks in different fields of life which posterity will ever record.

Ohuabunwa said Aro clan, Abia North and indeed the entire state had lost a great asset in the late Council boss.

He prayed God to grant members of his immediate family as well as the Aro community the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Ohuabunwa also urged the people to be consoled by the fact that the deceased lived a life of legacy and sacrifice, adding that he has no doubt that God had granted the soul of the departed a repose in His Paradise.

The late Okoro, aged 52, slumped and died in January about one month he was appointed TC Chairman of Arochukwu LGA.
