Rep Onyejeocha announces free registration for all WAEC candidates from constituency in 2020

Member representing Isuikwuato / Umunneochi federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha has announced free registration fee for all West African Examination Council, WAEC candidates from the constituency in 2020.
The Deputy Chief Whip made the announcement while handing over trophy to winners of the Hon. Nkeiru Onyejeocha annual football competition at Peace Comprehension School Amuda Isuochi.


She said every WAEC candidate in all public schools in the constituency would benefit from the gesture.
The gesture according to her is to mitigate the financial burden of WAEC registration on parents.
She however explained that WAEC candidates in private schools would not benefit from the largess as their parents or guardians could presumably carter for them.
The former House Committee Chairman on Aviation said she had already held meeting with principals of public secondary schools in the constituency where she asked them to make available to her office the full list of all WAEC candidates in their various schools.
“I have decided to pay whatever is the total WAEC fee of all WAEC candidates in Isuikwuato / Umunneochi federal constituency in 2020. This is the way I want to stop our youths from leaving secondary schools without WAEC certificate “.
She further said that after 2020, beneficiaries of the gesture would be limited to only indigent WAEC candidates.
On the annual football competition, the four -term legislator said it was intended to haunt new talents among teeming youths in the constituency who she claimed were heavily endowed.
Onyejeocha who said she had assisted many youths in her constituency to secure employment in federal establishments urged youths in the constituency to be focused and shun violence.
” I want our youths to be responsible, employable and fit for purpose “, she said.
The lawmaker later handed over a cheque of N.5 million to the winner of the competition, Ngodo Football Club; while N300,000 and N200,000 cheques were given to the Sylva and Bronze medals’ winners (Lokpaukwu and Ndiawa FCs) respectively.
Consolation prize of N30,000 each was given to each of the other seven participating teams.
