FG to invest N100 billion in Enyimba economic city – Abia govt

The Federal Government is to invest a whopping sum of N100 billion in the Enyimba Economic City, EEC, according to Abia State Government.


EEC is a multi -million dollar industrial hub of thousands of hectares of land cutting across three Local Government Areas in Abia State.
A number of international organizations including the World Bank and Afreximbank have already shown strong interest in the proposed City which the development is expected to commence by the first quarter of 2020.
Chief of Staff to Gov Okezie Ikpeazu, Dr. Anthony Agbazuere who disclosed this Wednesday in Umuahia said the project was receiving tremendous support of the Federal Government.


He said the Federal Government having been convinced about the huge economic potentials of the proposal had agreed to inject N100 billion in it representing 20% equity share.
Agbazuere said the project when fully realised, would tremendously boost the economy of the state as well as the entire South East geopolitical zone.
The former Commissioner said Gov. Ikpeazu had launched Abia into the global economic map through the promotion of “made -in-Aba ” products.
He solicited the support of Abians for the success of Ikpeazu administration which he said meant well for the state.
