Governors of the five Southeast states and members of the National Assembly from the zone will converge on Abakaliki, Ebonyi to reflect on issues of underdevelopment in the region.
The summit known as ‘Igboezue Summit’ is a brainchild of a professional think-thank group known as Nzuko Umunna.
A statement by the Head of the Retreat Media Committee, Mr Collins Ugwu described the meeting as a purpose-driven think home investment initiative.
Ugwu said that the event which would hold between Nov. 22 and 23 aimed at accelerating the development of the region.
He said that the group was made up of committed professionals from the zone at home and in the diaspora.
He said that the leadership retreat organised in partnership with the South East Governor’s Forum, would promote good governance in the area.
“The governors in the zone have endorsed the retreat as timely and one that should be supported to produce enduring outcomes.
“All other critical stakeholders in the Igbo project are upbeat about the prospects of this gathering,” he said.
Ugwu said that the Association of South East Town Uníons (ASETU) had queued into the event as the synergy pioneered by the organisers of the retreat was in tandem with their philosophy.
