Ikpeazu swears in 23 new commissioners
*Says he won’t accept excuses for non-performance

Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Wednesday, swore in 23 new commissioners, thus bringing the total number of members of the state Executive Council to 25.
The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Uche Ihediwa; and his Information counterpart , Chief John Okiyi Kalu, had since been sworn in.
Swearing in the new Commissioners, Ikpeazu charged them to live up to expectations, saying his administration is in a hurry to deliver on his mandate.
Ikpeazu who said he had zero tolerance for indolence and corruption warned the new appointees against sharp practices.
The Governor also told them not to look for excuses to fail but come up with new ideas to move their Ministries forward.
He said that they must perform whether or not they were provided with logistics.
According to the Governor, the appointees were chosen based on their track records, hence they must not betray the trust reposed in them.
Meanwhile the new Commissioners and their portfolios include : Sir Godwin Onyendilefu, Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs; Suleiman Ukandu, Land, Survey and Urban Planning; and Prince Dan Okoli, Homeland Security.
Others are Honorable Chimaobi Ebisike Special Duties ; Chief John J. Okoro , Joint Project; Dr Hon D K Uduma, Projects and Planning; and Mrs. Ojo Lovett Adimoha ,Culture and Tourism.
Former Deputy Speaker, House of Assembly, Dr Cosmos Ndukwe was assigned to head the Ministry of Trade and Commerce; Honorable Ugbaja Theophilus Odionyenfe, Housing ; Onyema Wachuku , SME Development; Chief Emeka Ikwuagwu ; Youth and Sports Department; and Bar Ekele Nwaohanmuo , Transport.
Others are Mrs Ukachi Amala , Women Affairs; Honorable Prince Ezekwesiri Ananaba, Cooperative Rural Development; Dr Solomon Ogunji, Environment; Chief Ikpechukwu Onuoha , Petroleum; and Dr Aham Uko, Finance.
Honorable Chijioke Paul Madumere was assigned to Science and Technology, while Dr K. C. K Nwangwa heads Education.
Others are Chief (Mrs) Uwaoma Olenwengwa Industry; Engr. Emma Nwabuko, Public Utilities; Dr Joe Osuji, Health; and Dr. Paul Chidozie Ogu, Works.
