The newly – appointed Transition Committee Chairman of Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State, Mr. Neighbour Onwukaike, an Engineer , has revealed that God’s grace has been the secret of his success in life.

Onwukaike who made the disclosure during a thanksgiving service in his honour at the Assemblies of God Church, 5/7 Item Street Umuahia, said God had graciously granted his heart desires without struggles.
The Council boss promised to judiciously utilise resources available to him to improve on the living standard of the people.
According to him, it is unjust to divert funds meant for the development of the council into private pockets.
He promised not to tamper with the council’s funds but to serve the people and bring democracy gains to their door posts.

Onwukaike thanked God for providing him the opportunity to serve as a council boss through the magnanimity of Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu.
He also thanked Gov. Ikpeazu for giving him the opportunity to serve, and promised not to disappoint the people.
Onwukaike recalled how he had in the past made desperate but unsuccessful efforts to get such a position, and thanked God for giving him “the appointment now without any stress”.
His words :”It’s all about God’s grace. It cost me a lot before now pursuing to become a Council Chairman but to no avail.
” But now it came without lobbying. God just did it at His own time without stress using the Governor as an instrument. That’s why I believe God’s time is the best in all things.
“My promise to all is that I will not fail the people. I am conscious of my identity as a Christian that I was given this opportunity to serve the people and I will not disappoint them “.
In his remarks later, the District Superintendent of Umuahia Central District of AGC, the Rev. Henry Emelike, advised Onwukaike never to lose conscious of his identity as an ambassador of Christ, and lead by example.
He blessed him and wished him well in his new position .
