Reports reaching Wawa News Global desk says the first Executive President of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, is dead.
The Sokoto -born late President was aged 93.
He died Friday at the National Hospital Abuja.
The news of his death was broken by Gov. Aminu Tambuwal via his twitter handle.
Shagari was Nigeria’s President in the second Republic that started in 1979.
The late Alex Ekwueme was his Vice .
Shagari was re-elected in 1983 but his tenure was short lived as the incumbent Gen. Muhammadu Buhari sacked him through a military coup.
The former President has been sick of late due to old age.
