By Steve Oko
Former Governor of Ekiti State, Peter Ayodele Fayose has demanded explanations on the whopping $1 billion withdrawn from the Excess Crude
Account by President Muhammadu Buhari
last year for the procurement of military equipment.
Fayose in his verified twitter handle, Wednesday evening wondered why the military is yet to receive the largess over a year the fund was purportedly withdrawn from the Excess Crude Account.
“12 months ago, I kicked against the FG decision to withdraw $1bn from the Excess Crude Account to fund the fight against Boko Haram.
“Three days ago, the military said it was yet to receive the $1bn. So I ask, where is the money? May God save our country.”

The federal government had explained that the fund was withdrawn to procure some modern military armament to help the military combat Boko Haram fighters.
