Postponement of APC guber primaries : Ogah urges supporters to remain committed, vote en mass
By Steve Oko
A leading governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abia State, Dr. Uche Ogah, has urged his supporters to remain steadfast in their support for him.

Ogah who was reacting to the postponement of the primaries to Tuesday by the Congress Committee deployed from the party’s national secretariat in Abuja urged APC members not to be discouraged by the postponements.

The Committee Chairman while announcing the postponement yesterday in Umuahia after a meeting with all the aspirants, the party leadership and key stakeholders cited the late arrival of members to Abia as reason for the shift.
Recall that this was the second time the primaries were shifted.

Ogah urged his supporters to throng out in their numbers at their various political wards to vote for him.

The oil magnet in a press statement issued Monday evening by his Media Adviser, Great Imo Jonathan, also appealed to APC members to vote based on merit and competence instead of unnecessary sentiments.
He argued that if APC gives its ticket to an unpopular candidate, it would be difficult for the party to win the 2019 poll in Abia.
Ogah said he had both the capacity and capability to ” crush” the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the poll.

Below is a full text of the press statement made available to Wawa News Global:
“Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah wishes to inform you of the postponement of the party’s Gubernatorial Primaries in Abia State, that was supposed to take place today. The primary will now take place tomorrow, 2nd October, 2019, by 9am, in all designated venues.

“Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah remains committed to the development, industrialization and modernisation of Abia State, to the glory of God.

“All party members are hereby encouraged to go to the venue tomorrow with their INEC voters card, party cards (permanent or temporary) to vote for Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, the man with the capacity, competence and character to win the seating governor and to liberate Abia State from bad governance, poverty, backwardness and underdevelopment.

“With Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be sure of winning the general election and to develop and industralize Abia State.”
