‘Thank you for fulfilling your promise’, Abia health workers write Otti

Medical and Health workers at the Health Management Board of Abia State, have expressed their profound gratitude to Gov Alex Otti, for clearing the arrears of salary owed them by the previous administration.
The appreciation was contained in a letter addressed to the Governor by the
Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, MHWUN, HMB branch.
According to the letter signed by signed by the Union’s Chairman, Comrade Mary Chidinma Wokoma; and Secretary, Comrade James Kanu, the health workers said Otti had truly demonstrated that he is a man of integrity by keeping to his promise.
The workers also commended the Governor for approving and implementing a new salary structure for Abia health workers and for the on-going transformation in the state’s health sector.
Below is a full text of the letter made available to newsmen in Umuahia:
“The Executive and entire members of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), HMB Branch sincerely express our profound appreciation to you for your outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare of Abia health workers.
“We are deeply grateful for your fulfilment of the promise to clear the outstanding salary arrears owed to HMB workers by the past administration.
“We also appreciate the implementation of the Abia State Heath Workers Salary Structures (ASHWOSS) and you assurance to pay the three months’ arrears — a promise we are confident you wil keep, given your integrity and consistency.
“Your administration’s achievements in the health sector speaks volumes, notably.The comprehensive restructuring of the State health system for better service delivery. The construction of a state-of-the-art Medical Village end over 200 new primary healthcare centres across Abia.
“The budding of a new HMB complex and recruitment of over 700 medical and health personnel. The development of durable road networks across the 17 LGAs. These milestones clearly demonstrate visionary leadership and sincerity for the well being of Ndi Abia.
“We re-affirm our Union’s unwavering commitment to duty and continued support for your transformational agenda.
“May God bless end strengthen you as you lead Abia to greater heights.”
