S’East skipped as Tinubu appoints Akume SGF, Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff, others

Former Benue State Governor, and the immediate-past Minister for Special Duties, Senator George Akume, has been appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF.
Tinubu also appointed Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila as the Chief of Staff, while Senator Ibrahim Hadejia, a former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, was appointed as the Deputy Chief of Staff.
This was contained in a statement issued by Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director, Information, State House. Abuja.
According to the statement, the President announced the appointment during the meeting he held with Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), at the Council Chamber, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Meanwhile, the South East geo-political zone is yet to be recognized by Tinubu who has so far made about seven appointments.
Wawa News Global investigation revealed that five of the appointees are free South West while two are from the North.
President Tinubu is from the South West while his Vice, Kashim Shettima is from the North East.
The ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, has already zoned the President of the Senate to the South South, Deputy President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives to the North West.
The South East was only considered by the party for the position of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, a development that has been causing ripples and tension in the polity.
