 Renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist, Dr Obinna Iyiegbu popularly known as Obi Cubana, has been conferred with the revered chieftaincy title of Ife-Igbo-Ji-Ka-Mba by the Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri Traditional Council.

The honour was bestowed on him by the monarch of the ancient kingdom, Ralph Obumneme Ekpe, in recognition of Obi Cubana’s landmark accomplishments in business, his enduring philanthropic impact, and his embodiment of the Igbo spirit of enterprise, excellence, and communal uplift.
The title “Ife-Igbo-Ji-Ka-Mba,”  translated as Igbo’s cherished gift to the world and literally Igbo’s “bragging rights”, reflects a profound acknowledgment of Obi Cubana’s outstanding service to humanity, his unmatched legacy, and the significant honour his achievements continue to bring to Ndigbo globally.
Conferring the title on Obi Cubana, the Igwe and his council of chiefs commended Dr Iyiegbu’s visionary leadership, value-driven entrepreneurship, and consistent commitment to social impact, qualities that have distinguished him across industries and borders.
He said Cubana’s virtues had brought honour to Igbos all over the world.
The monarch chronicled how describes how Obi Cubana’s values, business ventures, attributes, and accomplishments have distinguished the Igbos remarkably from other groups.
In his speech at the colourful event, Obi Cubana described the conferment as humbling and reaffirmed his commitment to representing the true spirit of Ndigbo through enterprises that create value, generate employment, and serve Nigeria and the wider global community.
The ceremony attracted an array of dignitaries from banking, oil and gas, real estate, hospitality, and other sectors, alongside prominent business leaders and community stakeholders, who gathered in Enugwu-Ukwu to celebrate the milestone with the honouree.
