JUST IN: Sen Ohuabunwa inaugurated as UNIPORT Pro-Chancellor, Gen Nwachukwu UNN

Senator Mao Ohuabunwa has been inaugurated as the Pro-Chancellor of University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).

Dr Ohuabunwa was inaugurated Thursday in Abuja with Gen. Ike Nwachukwu, as Pro-Chancellor of University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), among others.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had recently nominated Chairmen and members of Governing Councils of various tertiary institutions in the country.

Ohuabunwa, former Leader, ECOWAS Parliament, former Senate Committee Chairman on Primary Health Care and Communicable Disease, and former Leader, House of Representatives, recently bagged his Doctorate degree at the prestigious UNN.

Meanwhile, former Special Adviser to Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, and Abia North political stalwart,  Dr Isaac Nkole, has described Senator Ohuabunwa’s appointment as “a square peg in a square hole”.

He said Ohuabunwa had the requisite competence to deliver considering his antecedents, intimidating profile and previous achievements in positions of trust.

Dr Nkole commended President Tinubu for considering merit above political leaning in the appointment of Senator Ohuabunwa, expressing confidence that under his watch, UNIPORT will record rapid transformation in all frontiers.
