“I’ve no time for yesterday’s men,” Abia PDP caretaker chair fires back at Amah faction
By Steve Oko
The Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, Dr. Ikpegbu Emeka-Yellow, has dismissed criticisms from the Elder Abraham Amah faction of the party, describing its members as “men who belong to yesterday.”

Emeka-Yellow was reacting to a statement credited to the factional Publicity Secretary, Chief Jude Udeachara, which described the appointment of the Abia PDP Caretaker Committee as “a huge joke, a nullity, and a gross disregard for constitutional order and judicial authority.”

Udeachara had also questioned the eligibility of Comrade Ini Ememobong, National Publicity Secretary of the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP, to endorse the document appointing the caretaker committee.
He insisted that the Elder Abraham Amah-led State Working Committee remained the authentic leadership of the party in Abia State.
However, speaking with our correspondent in Umuahia, Emeka-Yellow dismissed the claims, accusing the Amah-faction of living in the past and seeking relevance through public controversy.
“I don’t want to join issues with yesterday’s men, people who belong to the darkest history of the PDP, both in Abia and Nigeria,” he said.
“They are living in the past. They are like a drowning man looking for a piece of wood to stay afloat. I will not give them that platform. Abians and Nigerians know them for what they are—rabble-rousers who are merely seeking attention.”
He further alleged that the faction lacked legitimacy and was resorting to litigation to stay relevant.
“They do not exist. And because they do not exist, I won’t talk about them. They are looking for legitimacy; that is why they are running from one court to another,” he added.
