INEC declares Tinubu winner of 2023 presidential poll with narrow margin

Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, has been declared winner of the 2023 presidential election held on Saturday February 25.
According to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, who announced Tinubu winner early Wednesday morning at the International Collation Centre in Abuja,
Tinubu polled 8,794,726 votes to emerge President.
Peoples Democratic Party flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar, came second with 6,984,520; while his Labour Party counterpart, Mr Peter Obi, scored 6,101,533.
Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, came a distant fourth with 1,496,687 votes.
Declaring Tinubu as the winner, the INEC boss said, “That Tinubu Bola Ahmed of the APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”
