Abia Line drivers, other staff protest 30 months of salary arrears
By Steve Oko
Drivers and other staff of Abia State owned transport firm, Abia Line Network, Friday morning embarked on strike to protest 30 months of unpaid salary.

Passengers who patronise the transport firm were stranded as both the entrance and exit gates of Abia Line loading depot at the state capital near Okpara Square were put under lock and key.

The drivers parked their empty vehicles outside the depot, insisting that they must be paid before resuming duty.

Shop owners and business operators within the premises were badly affected as they could not access their shops nor customers come in to patronize them.

The management of the transport firm could not be accessed for reaction as at the time of filing this report.
