Ex-Senate President, Joseph Wayas for burial Saturday Nov 30

The body of the late Second Republic Senate President, Senator Joseph Wayas was received by the Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio at the National Assembly Complex for a valedictory session.
The remains arrived the National Assembly Complex after a brief stop over at the former Senate President’s residence in Asokoro Abuja.
The casket containing the remains of the elder statesman was decorated with the Green White Green apparel of the Nigerian flag, which was conveyed by the Apams Funeral.
After the valedictory session at the National Assembly, the body was flown to Calabar where it was received by the State Governor His Excellency,
Governor Bassey Edet Otu and other top government functionaries in the State, at the Margareth Ekpo International Airport.
Thereafter, it was taken to the JU Esuene Sports Stadium Calabar, where it was laid in State with a night of tribute following thereafter.
The Most Distinguished Senator Joseph Wayas, who died after a protracted illness, will be buried in his hometown of Obanliku on Saturday.
