Sen Tony Nwoye buries Dad

The remains of Pa Lawrence Nwoye, father to the Distinguished Senator representing the Anambra North Senatorial District, Tony Okechukwu Nwoye, was recently laid to rest in his hometown Offianta Village Nsugbe, in the Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Friends and well-wishers of the Nwoye’s had gathered in large number, to bid their Patriarch a final farewell.
In his homily, Catholic Bishop of the Aguleri Diocese Most Reverend Dennis Isizoh, urged the deceased family not to weep, but give praises to the Lord Almighty.
He enjoined family members to live the good virtues their father left behind, while committing the soul of the deceased unto the Lord’s bosom.
The funeral service of the late Pa Lawrence Nwoye, was held at the St John the Baptist Catholic Church Nsugbe.
In attendance at the funeral was Archbishop of the Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, Reverend Father Valerian Okeke and other Priests.
The State Governor Prof Charles Soludo earlier condoled with the family of the deceased, describing the loss as a painful one.
The Senate President, Dr Godswill Akpabio, GCON, expressed his sympathy to the deceased family.
According to him “The death of a loved one no matter their age, evokes seering pain. At 89, your father was still an asset to his family and community. His loss is deeply felt”.
On the other hand a friend of the Senator and Lecturer at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Amb Dr Alex Orji described the late Patriarch of the Nwoye’s as a good man, who imparted much on humanity.
He prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest.
The body of the late Patriarch of the Nwoye’s was conveyed in a Chariot by the Apams Funeral Home to his final resting place, amid glamour, eulogy and funeral farewell songs by friends and well-wishers of the family.
Among the roll call of dignitaries include Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senator Victor Umeh, Senator Kelvin Chukwu, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, Senator Osita Izunaso, Senator Seriake Dickson among others.
