Encomiums as Ohanaeze PG, Iwuanyanwu is buried

All roads led to Atta Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, as the remains of foremost elder statesman, and the 11th President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu was laid to rest.
The body of the renowned politician and business mongul, was received at the Imo State Government House Owerri, by the State Governor Hope Uzodimma, as well as the Heads of Security Agencies in the State, and other top government officials.
In his remark, President Bola Tinubu who was represented by Secretary to the of the federation, Senator George Akume, praised the late Ohaneze President as a true hero, visionary leader and committed nationalist who devoted his life to nation building, unifying diverse communities, and uplifting the underprivileged, describing his passing as a collossal loss to the nation “.
The funeral service held at the Cathedral Church of St Matthew’s, had representative of the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, hailed the late Octogenarian as a trail blazer whose achievements in business, politics and social capital cannot be underestimated.
In his tribute, the Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, described the late elder statesman as one whose leadership qualities and contributions, helped in the development of the State and Nigeria.
“We have missed a rare Statesman and Son of Igboland and a detribalised Nigerian, who has paid his dues in the development of the State. The likes of Iwuanyanwu will be rare to come by. He was supportive of the State government and offered valid advice that helped the government in its policies. The Southeast will miss him especially, his words of wisdom that endeared people to him. He loved giving to the society back what the society made him become”
Eldest Son of the deceased Jidechukwu in his vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to the President, the South east governors and other guests, for honouring his father’s legacies.
Dignitaries at the burial ceremony includes Governors Alex Otti ofAbia, Peter Mbah of Enugu, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abdullahi Ganduje.
Other dignitaries includes Former First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan, Peter Obi, Emeka Ihedioha, Achike Udenwa, Sen Sam Anyanwu, Traditional and Religious leaders.
The remains of the elder statesman was conveyed to his resting place by the Apams Funeral Limited, while the body was committed to “mother earth”, with the dust to dust funeral rites performed by the Clergies.
