American Veterans of Igbo Descent, (AVID), has hailed the recent appointment of the widow of the late Biafra warlord, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

AVID in a statement by its President Chief Sylvester Onyia; and Secretary General, Dr Godson Obiagwu, described Mrs Ojukwu’s appointment as a round peg in a round hole.

According to the statement, the intimidating resume and antecedent of the former Nigerian envoy to Spain, have cleared doubts of her ability to perform creditably.

“Having known the landscape of Nigerian leadership, we are optimistic that the challenges of your new position would be scalable and your performance would rank to unprecedented level.
