Recruitment of adhoc staff for Nov Abia council poll begins

The Abia State Independent Electoral Commission, ABSIEC, Wednesday, said it had commenced recruitment of adhoc staff for the forthcoming November 2nd Local Government election in the state.
This is contained in a press statement issued by the ABSIEC Commissioner ll in charge of Information, Voter Education, Training and Publicity, Dr Kelechi Okere.
According to the statement, interested applicants are to submit a copy of their hand-written application to the ABSIEC office in their LGA.
The statement made available to Wawa News Global read in part:”Applications are hereby invited from suitable qualified candidates for the post of Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPO’s),Presiding Officers ( PO’S), Assistant Presiding Officers (APO’s), Poll Clerk (PC) and Assistants Poll Clerk for the November 2nd 2024 Local Government Chairmanship/Councillorship Elections in Abia state.
“You are by this notice directed to submit your duly handwritten applications to the Abia state Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC) offices in the various 17 LGA’S, addressed to the chairman ABSIEC on or before Tuesday the 8th of October 2024 for screening and shortlisting of Qualified candidates.
“Applicants are also directed to submit their duly completed applications with 2 passport photographs, photocopy of staff identity card where applicable, and their curriculum vitae.”
ABSIEC Chairman, Professor George Chima, had while unveiling the timetable for the poll last Saturday, enjoined political parties in the state willing to participate in the election, to strictly comply with the timetable and further guidelines from the electoral umpire.
