It was a sea of heads Sunday evening at the Okpara Square Event Centre Umuahia, venue of the on-going city -wide crusade by Evangelist Daniel Kolenda, successor of late Reinhard Bonnke, and his team.
The gospel crusade began on Thursday with large turnouts everyday but Sunday’s turnouts appears the highest so far.
It has been a harvest of miracles at the interdenominational crusade as people suffering various kinds of ailments testified of their miraculous deliverance in the previous days.
A woman testified of how her son’s child who was dead came back to life on the third day of the crusade when she, by faith stood at the crusade venue and called her name seven times.
The baby, according to her, was suffering from malaria and diarrhea, before passing on.
Confirming the testimony, the father of the baby, Mr Chekwubechi Ogbonna, a tricycle operator from Nenwe in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State, but lives in Umuahia, said he was on the road when the incident occured.
He thanked God for the supernatural intervention that delivered the family from sorrow.
Special prayer sessions were held both for Abia State and Nigeria.
Different leaders of Christian denominations were present at the event.
Traditional Rulers and Special Assistant to the Governor on Religious Affairs were also spotted at the crusade.
A member of the team, Evangelist Michael John will be staging another gospel crusade in Umuahia in 10 days time, according to one of the preachers.
Preaching on the topic: Create in me a clean heart”, he urged the audience to crave for a new heart willing to please God.
Citing King David in the bible who sought God’s forgiveness after an adultery with Beersheba the wife of Uriah, he urged the audience to be willing to come to God for forgiveness when they sin instead of trying to cover their sins.
He noted that God is willing to forgive any sinner ready to confess his sins and forsake them.
