The governorship bid of the candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, in Abia State, Professor Greg Ibe, received a major boost Monday, following his adoption by Local Government Council Chairmen of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state.

While adopting Professor Ibe as their consensus governorship candidate, the party Chairmen, announced the collapse of their structures into APGA in their respective LGAs.
Announcing the resolution during a press conference in Umuahia, the ADC LGA Chairmen, who spoke through four of their colleagues, declared that they arrived at the decision because of their conviction that “Prof Ibe is the most competent candidate in the race”.
“He possess the requisite expertise and experience to drive speedy transformation of the state”they said.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the ADC Chairman of Umuahia North LGA, Hon. Emma Emenike stated that their resolution to support the ambition of Prof Ibe “is a patriotic action motivated by the desire to ensure the emergence of the best, most credible and eminently competent candidate, with proven track record of social intervention and tangible acts of Corporate Social Responsibility in critical sectors of Abia life”.
He pledged to work with his colleagues in mobilizing grassroot support for Prof Ibe.
Emenike, therefore, enjoined Abians to rally round the APGA candidate who he said had demonstrated capacity and competence to lead the state.
He further said that APGA remaind the best political platform to negotiate the integration of Ndigbo into the mainstream of national politics.
Other ADC LGA Chairmen at the briefing include: Pastor Collins Nwosu, Umuahia South; Mrs Amarachi Eze of Aba North and Comrade James Chukwuemeka of Ikwuano.
