We ‘ll send you back to senate, Abia North stakeholders assure Sen Ohuabunwa

Abia North stakeholders, Saturday, vowed and assured Senator Mao Ohuabunwa that he would be returned to the Senate in 2023 to give the zone a dignifying and quality representation.
The stakeholders from all five Local Government Areas in the zone who gathered at Ojukwu Bunker Umuahia in their numbers, expressed utter disappointment over the low quality representation the zone currently enjoys at the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly.
They said that never again would they allow the “mistake of 2019” that brought about the displacement of their “first eleven by a misfit”.

Wawa News Global reports that the stakeholders expressed bitterness over the diminishing glory of Abia North in the political equation of the state and vowed to correct the anomaly.
They equally noted with amusement, the desperation to deceived the zone with low quality few meter feeder roads by one of the contestants for the election.
According to them, the people need road but more, quality representation and sense of belonging.
” It’s necessary for Abia North to have a Senator who can know the difference between is and was”, thundered Dr Eme Okoro, a former Secretary to State Government.
The elder statesman said that ” it is when Mao returns to the Senate that we will begin the process of reconstructing Abia North”.
He urged the stakeholders to mobilise their various units and followers to ensure a landslide victory for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, senatorial candidate in 2023.
In his remarks, Chairman of PDP in Umunneochi, Chief Mbabefo Agbadogo, said Senator Ohuabunwa had never failed election in Umunneochi but that his margin of win in 2023 would be outstandingly overwhelming.
He accused the incumbent senator representing Abia North of abandoning Umunneochi during their plights in the hands of bandits rampaging the area.
According to him, such attitude has proved to the people that the former Governor has no regards for them but is  only interested in their votes.
The PDP boss said that the entire Umunneochi people had rejected ” Ruga” and everyone involved in bringing the Cattle Market to their land as it had turned out to be a source of misery and constant sorrow.
He assured Senator Ohuabunwa who he said had constantly identified with the people of Umunneochi despite not being in power at the moment, of the unflinching support of Umunneochi people at the forthcoming poll.
Other speakers including former Military Administrator of Cross River State, Navy Capt. Chris Osindu; former Commissioner for Education, Dr P.C Mba;  and former Deputy Chairman of Bende LGA, Comrade John Mark; all declared the full support of their people for Senator Ohuabunwa.
Some of the stakeholders at the event were  the Deputy Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu; former lawmaker representing Ohafia state constituency, Hon. Mba Ukaha; and immediate-past Commissioner for Joint Project, Chief JJ.
Others were former Commissioner for Small and Medium Enterprises, SMEs, Gab Igboko; former Commissioner for Boundary Matters, Imo Mascot Obike; Chairman of Umunneochi LGA, Chief Ifeanyi Madu; his Bende counterpart, Chief Emmanuel; and former General Manager, Abia Line Network, Hon. Ugochukwu Uwaeke.
The meeting was also attended by the State Secretary of PDP, Hon. David Iro; PDP Vice Chairman, Abia North, Elder Abraham Amah; former Arochukwu Council boss, Princely Kingsley Ngunu; Deputy Chairman of Arochukwu, Hon. Cletus Nwankwo.
Present also at the great gathering were former Commissioner, Chima Mgbeke; former PDP Chairman, Isuikwuato, Hon. Igboko; former PDP State Treasurer, Chief Uwadinjo.
Others were former Commissioner in Abia State Oil Producing Development Commission, ASOPADEC, Hon. Eke  Udeagha; former Arochukwu PDP Chairman, Hon. Tony Nwankwo; former Council boss, Mr Obinna Nwankwo, among a host of other stakeholders.
Addressing the mammoth crowd of stakeholders, Senator Ohuabunwa who was elated by the outpouring of words of encouragements and their show of solidarity, thanked them for rallying round him.
He promised not to disappoint Abia North upon his return to the Senate.
The former Leader ECOWAS Parliament who said the condition of Abia North was shameful vowed to restore the dignity of the zone.
He noted that Abia North that previously produced respected senators whose voices were adored at the Senate had suddenly become a comic relief at the red chamber.
The former Senate Committee Chairman on Primary Health and Communicable Diseases, urged the people of remain resolute and steadfast in their support for him and other PDP candidates at the forthcoming elections.
He expressed optimism that the lost glory of Abia North would be restored at the polls.
