The immediate-past Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Arochukwu Local Government Area, Hon. Anthony Nwankwo, has refuted social media report that supporters of Senator Mao Ohuabunwa are working against Abia PDP governorship candidate, Professor Uche Ikonne.
Nwachukwu who is the Organizing Secretary of Uche NdiAbia, Professor Ikonne’s support group in Arochukwu LGA, dismissed the media report as mischievous and deliberate attempt by the enemies of Senator Ohuabunwa to pitch him against Ikonne.
He said that those who sabotaged Senator Ohuabunwa in 2019 were at work again and desperately looking for means of blackmailing him.
The PDP chieftain warned the author of the mischievous report and his sponsors to retrace their steps, saying that Ohuabunwa’s supporters “will not tolerate any attempt to mess him up again as the enemies within did in 2019”.
He insisted that supporters of Ohuabunwa in the entire Abia North are strongly supporting Ikonne and other PDP candidates.
The former PDP boss urged members of the public to discountenance such misleading report planted by those threatened by the rising popularity and swelling support for Ohuabunwa across Abia North.
” No matter what they do, we are resolute that Senator Ohuabunwa will return to the Senate come 2023, and no amount of blackmail can stop this. We know that his political enemies are desperately looking for how to sow the seed of enmity between him and the governorship candidate but it cannot fly.
” Ohuabunwa, those around him and all his supporters are for Ikonne and other PDP candidates. Anything to the contrary is pure blackmail which must be disregarded”.
