Pioneer Director General DG of the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, Chief Chuku Wachuku, has given quit notice to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia.
Wawa News Global reports that senatorial candidate of the Young Peoples Party, YPP, for Abia Central, gave the quit notice while inaugurating the YPP Campaign Council for Abia Central.
Wachuku who predicated landslide victory for YPP in the 2023 elections, said time had come for power to be transmitted to the younger generation with fresh blood and lofty ideas.
He said that PDP had dominated power in Abia for long, and should leave the stage for YPP with better ideas.
Wachuku reiterated his call for power to be transferred to the younger generation with fresh blood to move the state forward.
He said that Abia under YPP would focus on the empowerment of the whole family to improve on the living standard of the people.
The former NDE boss urged Abians youths not to be deceived by those who give them tricycle and motorcycles in the name of employment.
According to him,  distribution of wrappers, rice or motorcycles is no empowerment but enslavement.
Wachuku who solicited the support of Abians for the YPP, promised to sponsor legislations that would help to create job opportunities for his constituents and other Nigerians.
He tasked YPP candidates in the zone on unity , predicting a landslide victory for the party in the forthcoming polls.
Chief Wachuku insisted that his Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area was not prepared to trade off their right to produce the Abia Central senator in 2023 according to the prevailing local zoning arrangement in the area.
He explained that Isiala Ngwa North where he hails from remained the only LGA in the zone that had not produced a senator.
Wachuku said he was prepared to impact on his constituents and Nigeria generally through quality representation at the Senate.
