Abia: Sen Orji’s aide fires back at Gov Ikpeazu’s deputy chief of staff

Abia politics may be in for turbulence as Hon. Ifeanyi Umere, Liaison Officer to the immediate-past Governor and Senator representing Abia Central, Senator Theodore Orj, has fired back at the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Don Ubani, over his uncomplimentary remarks against his principal.

Chief Ubani, a former Commissioner for Information under Senator Orji, has recently claimed that the reason Orji supported power shift to Ukwa/Ngwa in 2015 was not out of love but because he desperately needed their vote to be able to go to the Senate.

Ubani in the article titled; “Must Dr. Eme Okoro Fume To Make His Point? Wrote in part: “T. A Orji knew that without Ngwa votes in Abia Central Senatorial District, nothing on Earth would have made him to go to the Senate”.

But Umere in a swift reaction, lampooned the Deputy Chief of Staff for attacking his former boss, describing him as an ingrate who derives joy in biting the finger that fed him.

He cautioned Ubani against stoking the embers of disunity and clanish sentiments in Abia politics.

Dr. Eme Okoro, the immediate-past Secretary to State Government SSG, and one of the founding fathers of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party PDP, had fumed against moves by some dark horses to scuttle power shift to Abia North.

The former SSG had lashed out on the PDP Chairman in the state, Rt. Hon. Asiforo Okere, who he accused of aborting a planned visit by Abia North PDP stakeholders to the party leadership to canvass support for power shift to the zone in tandem with Abia Charter of Equity.
