Ohanaeze youths disown ex-boss, Isiguzoro,

* Accuse him of working against Igbo interest

* Hired to blackmail Nnamdi Kanu

The youths wing of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has disowned its former National President, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, accusing him of working against Igbo interest.

The incumbent National President of Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, who made the allegation, lambasted Isiguzoro over his comments on pro-Biafra leaders of Igbo extraction particularly, the Leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra,IPOB,Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

OYC which claimed that Isiguzoro was an impostor being used by the enemies of Ndigbo against the Igbo nation urged members of the public to disregard his recent media attacks against Kanu.

Igboayaka in a statement by his

Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Chukwuemeka Chimerue, cautioned Isiguzoro against blackmailing leaders of pro Biafra groups.

The OYC President spoke on the heels of a recent press statement by Isiguzoro and Okwu Nnabuike who, he claimed, “have since become impostors using a non-existent group called ‘Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide’ to hoodwink and deceive politicians and the general public, especially after his expulsion by the leadership caucus of our parent body, Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Chief John Nnia Nwodo”.

Igboayaka noted that “the so-called Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide which Mr. Okechukwu Isiguzoro now parades as its President-General, was formed by the Nigerian government to destabilize Igbo youths, Igbo agenda and to confuse the general public at large.”

The stetament read in part: “We wish to alert Ndigbo in particular and the general public at large to be wary of the antics and shenanigans of Mazi Okechukwu Isigusoro and his cohorts whom are hugely funded by political enemies of Ndigbo to pursue an ulterior agenda and mischievous objectives against the overall interest of Ndigbo.

” He has been engaged by political profiteers and cabals to counter and truncate genuine and spirited efforts by true Igbo sons and daughters, IPOB and other pro-Biafran groups.

“Mr. Okechukwu Isiguzoro as a megalomaniac and insatiable fellow is ready to go at any length to satisfy his paymasters in order to ensure that his daily bread is guaranteed.

“Therefore, the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) wishes to state categorically that the press statement published by both print, social/electronic media issued by Isiguzoro with the name “Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide”, stating that ‘Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is inciting the Nigeria youths’ is a paid media release to discredit the peaceful activities of IPOB , and should be ignored.

“A thorough look at Mr. Okechukwu Isiguzoro’s press release will suggest that Mr. Okechukwu Isiguzoro has been paid by someone desperate to cause problems between Ndigbo and Yoruba due to his selfish 2023 presidential ambition.”

Igboayaka further noted that “it’s unwise to allege that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu ordered the rampage of angry and hungry Nigerian youths who have rejected hardship and marginalization orchestrated by Nigerian politicians in all ramification.”

“At this juncture, we therefore inform the general public and Ndigbo in particular that henceforth, any release or statement issued or signed by Mr Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Mr. Okwu Nnabuike and their cohorts should be ignored and treated as one coming from an impostor who has sold his conscience to feed from the crumbs of the unscrupulous politicians.”

OYC noted that “intimidation, wanton killings and police brutality has even increased, taking into consideration that two Igbo youths were killed, many injured and others arrested on 24th October 2020 at Queens College Enugu while trying to gain access into a warehouse where COVID-19 food palliatives made for the poor citizens were hoarded by the Enugu State government.”

Comrade Igboayaka added that it was regrettable that in other states, army personnel accompanied youths gaining access at various palliative warehouses without shooting or killing them, “but Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi compromised and aided the police in killing Igbo youths in Enugu”.

” We therefore urge Governor Ugwuanyi to fish out the perpetrators of Queens College shooting, including those of the infamous Emene-Enugu massacre, otherwise we shall wait for the expiration of his immunity as governor and get him arrested for conspiring in killing Igbo youths.”

OYC called on all pro-Biafran groups namely: IPOB, MASSOB, BIM, MOBIN, ZOINIST, Eastern Peoples Congress, etc, to remain peaceful and calm in their quest for Biafran actualization, stressing that although self-determination is a fundamental human right of a people, they should ensure that their activities are conducted within the confines of the law.
