By Steve Oko
There is serious tension in South West following the gruesome killing of the daughter of the National Leader of the pan Yoruba -political organisation Afenifere, Pa Reuben Faroranti.
The victim, Mrs. Funke Olakunri, 58, was said to be traveling from Ondo to Ore when the incident occurred along Benin /Ore Expressway at a road block mounted by Fulani herdsmen.
Reports say the devil-may -care elements who have been terrorising commuters on that axis attempted to abduct her and other occupants of the vehicle before they shot her .
The fate of other travelers with the victim is yet unknown as the incident is still sketchy.
Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, who confirmed the incident expressed shock and rage over sad incident.
The sad incident has thrown the 93- year old father of the victim, Pa Fasoranti, as well as the entire Yoruba nation and the Southern Nigeria into morning.
Atrocities by Fulani herdsmen have since assumed crisis dimension, yet the federal government has not seen reason to brand them terrorists ,thus raising more questions on who their real sponsors are and what their main objective could be.
