Blame Northern political elite for North’s abject poverty, backwardness – Dan Fulani
By Steve Oko
Kaduna -born rights activist and social crusader , Dr. John Dan Fulani, has lampooned the Northern political elite, accusing them of the zone’s backwardness and underdevelopment.
Dan Fulani also accused the politicians of responsibility for the abject poverty in the North, saying they diverted funds meant for the development of the zone to private pockets.
The social crusader who took to his verifiable tweeter handle @john_danfulani, said the political elite take pleasure in foreign trips and frivolities instead of using resources meant for the zone’s development for the people.
His words :”They (Northern leaders) spend billions on foreign trips that do not add value to statecraft . All the resources of the state are being used in promoting their political and personal career while the masses are faced with the most debilitating forms of poverty.
“With more than 13 million school age children out of school, can any reasonable person not understand why kidnappings have become so lucrative? It is outrighly dishonest and self serving for a northern leader to come out & lampoon the north because he is a big part of the problem.
“The entire political and economic space in the North for the past five decades have been curtailed for the benefits of past and present northern leaders and their families and only bootlickers get crumbs and for the crumbs to continue to eat “.
