The youth wing of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to President Muhammadu Buhari to call Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN to order over its plans to establish Fulani Youths vigilantes  in South East, or be held responsible for any security breach in the zone.
This was the outcome of an emergency security meeting of Ohanaeze Youths Council, OYC held Saturday in Owerri Imo State.
OYC accused Buhari of stoking another civil war in Nigeria considering his “criminal silence” over the “evil demand ” by Miyetti Allay to set up Fulani vigilante groups in their host communities.
OYC in  a press statement issued after the emergency meeting also accused Fulani herdsmen and their sponsors of hatching secret plans  to invade Igbo land.
The statement signed by  Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka read in part :”That ill-intention of herdsmen to have vigilate group in South East is a plot to invade South East.
“We give  President Mohammed Buahri 24 hours to call herdsmen to order to resind  the evil demand or Ndigbo will interprete his  silence  as fueling the process of causing the second Nigeria/Biafra Civil War.
“If after 24 hours Ndigbo didn’t hear the message of Mr President, we will also assume that he wants to divide Nigeria.”
OYC threatened that Igbo youths might be tempted to pick up arms in defense of Igbo land against any foreign invasion if after the deadline the Presidency fails to take any meaningful action to stave off the plot.
The group  vowed to mobilise Igbo youths to safeguard all communities in the seven Igbo speaking states plus parts of Benue and Edo States.
OYC also accused Buhari of treating herdsmen with kid gloves despite their atrocities in different parts of the country.
“We recall the out-cry of the Governor of Ebonyi State , David Umahi on how Fulani herdsmen went on rampage, killed and raped Igbo women in their farm land, and no security measure was taken by the President . Till today no one was arrested over such brutality against our mothers.
” Since  Buhari came on Board, Nigeria is having transformation of militia groups, from Boko haram attack to herdsmen attack, Bandit attack and kidnapping attack all over the Northern Nigeria with the same mission and the same people.
” President Mohammed Buhari is by his tempting the over 30 million Igbo Youths to pick up arm on self-defense.
“OYC wants to alert the EU, UN, and AU that President Mohammed Buhari’s policies against Ndigbo are  a deliberate act to cause another civil war in Nigeria.”

The youths therefore, urged  National Assembly members of Igbo extraction to present  a joint motion at both chambers of NASS for the probe of the “suspicion demand”.
OYC gave them 16 market days to move such motion ” or face the blame of massive insecurity of life and property in Igbo land.”
The youths also called on the  security agencies not to allow the leadership of Miyetti Allah get away with the “suspicion demand”.
OYC further tasked South East Governors, to as a matter of urgency, revive and equip all neighbourhood associations and vigilante groups in their states to be on standby in the eventuality of any invasion by herdsmen.
