Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State will on Wednesday, swear in Commissioner designate, Chief John Okiyi Kalu.

A release by his Chief Press Secretary, Onyebuchi Ememanka, says the Governor will also swear in the newly nominated 17 Transition Committee Chairmen of the Local Government Areas and their Deputies.

The release put the venue of the event at Micheal Okpara Auditorium Umuahia by 10:00 am.

Wawa News Global reports that the Commissioner designate and the Leadership of the 17 Local Government Transition Committees were recently screened and cleared by the Abia State House of Assembly.

Apart from Uche Ihediwa who has already been sworn in as Attorney General and  Commissioner for Justice , Ikpeazu is yet to nominate other members of the State Executive Council .

Okiyi, the immediate -past Commissioner for Information and a close ally of Ikpeazu is likely to occupy the same position he held in the just-dissolved state EXCO according to Wawa News Global checks.

The Abriba -born young politician is one of the most influential members of Ikpeazu’s kitchen cabinet who always has the ears of the Governor .
