A renowned Aba -based cleric, the Reverend P. K Emeaba, has charged pastors to ensure they take members of their congregation to heaven which is their ultimate destination, and not to “crash them on the way”.
Rev. Emeaba stated this Saturday while speaking at the leadership and church growth summit of the Umuahia Central District of the Assemblies of God Nigeria.
He noted that people are in church to make heaven, and that pastors as the driver of the vehicle should do their best to help everyone under their custody get to heaven.
“Pastors, you are drivers; the people to their destination and don’t crash them “, he charged.
He equally tasked pastors and church leaders at all levels on self development, declaring that leaders should be ahead of the led.
” Leaders should be versatile and know more than those they lead “, he declared.
Speaking on the topic “Dedication despite Distractions “, the Rev. Emeaba enjoined leaders to be dedicated in their service to God and humanity, stressing that God will faithfully reward every selfless service to him.
He also charged leaders to live by example, submitting that leadership by example is the greatest legacy any leader can bequeath to the people.
The immediate -past District Superintendent of Aba North District urged pastors and other categories of leaders in the church to work in harmony for the success of the kingdom business.
“Assist your pastors as co-labourers in the kingdom because the kingdom will surely reward us “.
He regretted that most pastors in Assemblies of God “are not relxed”, noting that “nobody succeds under tension “.
The Rev. Emeaba, therefore, urged pastors and other leaders in the church to work together as a team.
