Breaking : Fulani herdsmen in military uniform arrested in Isuikwuato

Two Fulani herdsmen in military uniform have reportedly been arrested by the police in Isuikwuato, Abia State.

The suspects were arrested at the erosion site near Abia State University Uturu on Akara /Uturu Road where they had unleashed terror to travellers in the recent times.

A local source confided in Wawa News Global that herdsmen had been suspected for the spate of kidnapping in the area in the recent times.

According to the source, the locals in collaboration with the police decided to lay ambush for the hoodlums.

The source said two Fulani herdsmen were arrested Sunday afternoon at the area while the third person escaped into the nearby bush.

Our source said locals and commuters on the route have been apprehensive over the nefarious activities of herdsmen in the area.

The source which said the suspects were taken into custody at the Isuikwuato Divisional Police station therefore, appealed to the security operatives to step up patrol of the area.

But when contacted , the Police Public Relations Officer in charge of Abia State, Mr. Geoffrey Ogbonna, said he was not yet aware of the development. promised to make inquiries.
