Reports reaching Wawa News Global desk say no fewer than nine supporters slumped obviously due to overcrowding of the venue by enthusiastic supporters and party faithful.
This is as the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, may have caught fever over the rising popularity of PDP in Kano.
Sani Abacha Stadium, venue of the rally was filled to capacity and had over flow as former Governor of the state, and PDP chieftain, Senator Kwankwaso proved that he is still in charge of the state by filling the stadium with his supporters.
As Kwankwaso’s political structure and Atiku’s supporters surged at the venue in hundreds of thousands, the crowd jostled for air, thus, leading to near stampede.
This is as security operatives had a herculean task controlling the mammoth crowd.
But nine persons were not so strong to withstand the surge as they were seen on the ground gasping for breath.
Photos emerging from the rally show a mammoth crowed of supporters who had thronged out to welcome Abubakar.
Meanwhile the sea of heads at the venue has sent a shock down the spine of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, which had hithertho claimed Kano as its stronghold.
Atiku is expected to win at least 2 million of the over 5 million registered voters in Kano.
