The Leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Nnamdi kanu, has raised an alarm over an alleged discovery of a mass grave in Aba, Abia State.
The alarm is coming barely one month after the Army announced another special military operation codenamed Python Dance lll nationwide .
Similar operation held in 2017 was limited to South East zone alone at the peak of the agitation for Biafra restoration.
Scores of agitators particularly IPOB members were killed during the operation which generated public outrage before it was terminated.
IPOB said no fewer than 28 agitators were murdered in one day when the home of its leader was invaded.
Kanu who escaped by the whiskers since then has been into hiding until late 2018 when he was spotted in Jerusalem.
Army said the phase lll of the operation expected to last till February 28 was aimed at containing insecurity before, during and after the forthcoming general elections.
Wawa News Global could however not independently verify the identities of the bodies in the mass grave nor who the actual killers are.
Efforts to extract response from the Army Spokesman at Ohafia Brigade, Major Gbadamosi. were unsuccessful as he had yet to pick his calls nor reply to the test message sent to him as at the time of filing this report.
But Kanu claimed they are bodies of Biafran agitators allegedly killed by security operatives .
The IPOB Leader who spoke to Israeli -based newspaper, Arutz Sheva, Tuesday, said the mass grave was discovered near a petrol station on the Aba -Umuahia Expressway.
According to the story posted on the paper’s website, Kanu said the mass grave was discovered about four days ago.
Some fresh decomposing bodies were observed in the gory picture of the site.

“A group claiming Jewish heritage in Eastern Nigeria is facing systematic extermination at the hands of Islamic terrorists, a separatist leader warns, citing the recent discovery of mass-graves in the Abia region.
“Nnamdi Kanu, a leader of the Biafra separatist movement, told Arutz Sheva Tuesday that members of a crypto-Jewish group within Nigeria’s Igbo minority have been targeted by Islamists in a recent string of mass-killings.
“The bodies, he said, were found four days ago, dumped in ditches around the city of Aba in southern Nigeria.
“Kanu warned that the recent killings suggest Islamic terror groups active in Nigeria are singling out Igbo who identify as Jews or with the local Messianic community”.
Army high command has also threatened to deal decisively with anyone who attempts to obstruct the forthcoming polls.
It specifically warned IPOB members against their call for the boycott of the elections.
Meanwhile, there has been palpable fear across South East that the region might witness another ‘heat’ that characterised Python Dance ll in 2017.
Over 28 Biafran agitations were reportedly killed in one day by security operatives during the September 14 , 2017 invasion of Kanu’s home.
IPOB had also in 2018 said it discovered decomposed bodies Biafra agitators allegedly killed by security operatives and dumped at a forest in Ukwa /Ugwunagbo area of the state.
