The chances of Senator Mao Ohuabunwa representing Abia North senatorial district brightened today ( Monday) following his endorsement by the Bende Council of Traditional rulers as the consensus candidate of the people for the February 16 poll.

Ohuabunwa’s major challengers at the poll include former Gov. Orji Uzor Kalu of the All Progressive Congress; and Chief Bordex Onuoha Ogba of the All Progressive Grand Alliance,  APGA,  but investigations reveal that Ohuabunwa enjoys greater support of the people.

The monarchs comprising of 107 members said the decision to adopt Ohuabunwa was based on his superlative performances so far at the red chamber.

They said Ohuabunwa had given a good account of himself  through numerous projects he attracted to the district in addition to his legislative functions.

The decision to adopt Ohuabunwa was taken at a meeting of the monarchs held at  Bende council hall with all 107 traditional rulers in attendance.
