Two important markets in Lagos State were Wednesday, locked down as the Vice-Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Peter Obi, and the party’s governorship candidate in Lagos, Mr Jimi Agbaje, visited.
Obi and Agbaje accompanied by Agbaje’s running mate, Mrs Haleema Busari and other PDP stalwarts stormed the markets amid thunderous ovation by traders and visitors to the markets.
Traders ,in their thousands, poured out from their shops as Obi and his entourage moved round the Igbo -dorminated markets cheering him.
Obi and his entourage walked round the markets interacting with traders and exchanging pleasantries with them.
It was a carnival of sorts as the excited traders trooped out with different kinds of troupes and flutes to receive their August visitors.
All through the duration of the visit, commercial activities in both markets were literally grounded as the market stood still for the uncommon visitors .
Many Igbo traders and PDP supporters who dominated the markets joined the train as it moved round in grand style while others watched on with great admiration.
Crowed control was almost overwhelming for security operatives attached to the candidates as traders jostled to have a hard shake with Obi who they said was God -sent to rescue Nigeria.
Obi and Agbaje first arrived Computer Village by 10 am where the held meeting with officials of Computer and Allied Products Dealers Association of Nigeria (CAPDAN).
They assured the traders of better business environment if voted into power.
Obi said PDP would restore the dignity of lives and create wealth for Nigerias if elected.
He urged the traders to support the operation rescue Nigeria mission by voting for all PDP candidates at the forthcoming elections.
End.
